JJ Catering: Their Sanitariness Stinks along with their Food
Just last week, my younger sister got sick because she had food poisoning. Now, you may think it was just the stay-at-home-and you’ll feel-better type of sickness right? Where you can fight it on your own. But the thing is it wasn’t like that for her. She ended up going to the hospital because her case more serious. They had to stick an IV into her arm. My parents took her to the hospital around eight that night and they didn’t get home until midnight. After that she was fine. I was so relieved. They just told her to rest and gave her medicine. Now she’s back to her old goofy self again. But you know what’s weird? She had the same exact food as me the day she got sick, exactly the same. I know you all were there in the cafeteria eating lunch, talking with friends, basically the same thing she and I were doing but, the only difference is that she got sick and we didn’t. It could happen to anyone of us, it could be anyone of us next time. People will continue to get sick at this school if we do not act now an change the way we go about our lives at KIS. What makes you think it won’t happen to you? What if it happens again and you get sick? I know this is just food poisoning, but the thing is, it’s NOT just food poisoning. It’s still a sickness and people all over the world die from something as simple as this! So you see, it may seem not like a big deal, but I don’t see it that way. I was worried for my sister that day she got sick. I was worried for myself too because I know we are still vulnerable to getting sick at this school. People will always get sick and you never know until it hits you. Some people never see it coming. We are very lucky that we have the resources to change what is happening. We have the resources to make people more safe. We can start right here in our school by being more aware of what we do around people and by taking good care of ourselves. Making sure that we are healthy and practicing good hygiene. We can act by also letting the school know that we care by reporting this problem so they can help us fix it. The power of your voice is strong if heard by the right people. If we let others in our community know about this and how serious we have to be, we will be able to prevent more illnesses, including food poisoning, from happening at this school. We can all learn better and be safer.
Thank you.
